A coincidence unites the lives of two different women. The first lives in the present, while the other lived centuries ago. Myrsini, a philologist, dreams of an academic career. She leaves Athens to live in Kardamyli. There, she passionately falls in love with a charming architect, who cheats on her with her niece.

Devastated, in her attempt to forget, she meets a university history professor who helps her with her doctorate. However, she is kidnapped along with one of her students, and her life is in danger. The professor manages to save her, and love now binds these two people together.

During a trip, they discover at the Hermitage Museum in Saint Petersburg the diary of Stella Alipranti, who lived there in 1770. It recounts how she was pursued by Turks and Venetians until she reached Russia, seeking asylum from Catherine the Great, her dramatic life in the palaces of the famous tsarina, the sword fights, the splendid balls of the palaces, and her captivating love for a Greek ship captain, with whom she participated in the creation of Odessa and its glorious development.

The captain's ships crossed the Mediterranean against pirates and privateers, while in their salons they secretly discussed the Friendly Society. Her life becomes a source of inspiration for Myrsini's dissertation, which ultimately sees her victorious in both life and love.

Her senses were on high alert. She tried to resist, but trembled at his touch. She froze seeing her niece writhing in passion in Philip's arms.

"My heart, hold on!" she thought. – What did they say? – They are asking for one million euros in ransom. They kidnapped the child with her teacher. If we call the police, they'll kill them!

Special climbers, silently lowering their ropes on the rocks, fell upon the hooded abductors.

– I married you obeying the orders of the tsarina. Why did you take me? – But you are very rich, didn't you know? Your dowry carries the Russian flag on my ships and cannons by the order of the empress.

– No, stop the duel, she shouted, rushing to separate them. But the violinist's sword pierced deep into her shoulder.

– Stella! Andrew screamed, lifting her in his arms.
