Absolutely smooth, fine, and uniform writing, without any smudging even for us left-handers. Out of the set of 10, two were a bit hard at first and needed 1-2 days of 'breaking in' to write normally. Because they use gel ink, they last noticeably less than classic 'Bic' pens.
