PM9A3 SSD 3.8TB 2.5'' PCI Express 4.0 MZQL23T8HCLS-00A07 Bulk

Key features:

  • PCIe Gen4 x4
  • Form Factor 2.5"
  • Read Speed 6800 MB/s
  • Write Speed 4000 MB/s

Top specs

  • Communication Protocol

Most SSDs use SATA III or PCI Express.

Almost all 2.5" SSDs connect via SATA III while most M.2 SSDs connect via PCI Express.

PCI Express connection offers higher speeds, but this is mainly noticeable in demanding applications (high-resolution video processing, transferring large files, etc.) and is not necessary for everyday use.

  • Write Speed

Indicative size for the maximum speed of the hard disk during data recording. The larger the size, the faster the data recording.

For an SSD that uses the SATA III protocol, the average recording speed is 300MB/s, while for one with NVMe it is 1200MB/s.

These differences make sense in particularly demanding use cases (e.g. high-resolution video editing). For most users, the differences will not be noticeable.

  • Read Speed

Indicative size for the maximum speed of the hard disk during data reading. The larger the size, the faster the data reading speed.

An average reading speed for an SSD using the SATA III protocol is 600MB/s, while for one with NVMe it is 2000MB/s.

These differences make sense in particularly demanding use cases (e.g. high-resolution video editing). For most users, the differences will not be noticeable.

Capacity
3840 GB

Capacity

The golden ratio of cost and capacity for now is 500GB and 1TB.

For gaming or professional programs that require a lot of space for their installation, a capacity of at least 500GB is recommended.

As an indication, a 1TB hard drive can hold about 250 thousand photos taken with a 12MP camera or 250 movies.
Communication Protocol
PCI Express 4.0

Communication Protocol

Most SSDs use SATA III or PCI Express.

Almost all 2.5" SSDs connect via SATA III while most M.2 SSDs connect via PCI Express.

PCI Express connection offers higher speeds, but this is mainly noticeable in demanding applications (high-resolution video processing, transferring large files, etc.) and is not necessary for everyday use.
NVMe
Yes

NVMe

Communication template that enhances the performance and speed of SSDs.

The higher speeds offered by an NVMe drive are mainly applicable to demanding applications (high-resolution video processing, transferring large files, etc.) and are not necessary for simple everyday use.
Heatsink
No

Heatsink

The SSD is equipped with a heatsink to maintain low temperatures, ensuring better performance and more efficient heat dissipation in the SSD.
Compatible with PlayStation 5
No

Compatible with PlayStation 5

Compatible with PS5.
Device Group
Laptops
Cache Type
DRAM-less
NAND Flash Type
MLC

NAND Flash Type

The type of flash memory used by the SSD. It affects the drive's durability, performance, and cost.

MLC
Combines high performance and great durability. Today, it is found mainly in older or professional SSDs.

Dimensions

Form Factor
2.5''

Form Factor

The term form factor refers to the physical size of SSDs. The motherboard must support the form factor of the SSD in order for it to be installed.

The higher speeds offered by an NVMe drive are mainly applicable to demanding applications (such as high-definition video processing, transferring large files, etc.) and are not necessary for everyday use.

2.5''
The most classic size of SATA SSD hard drive.

HDD hard drives in laptops are of this size, so upgrading with an SSD is the right choice.

Read Speed
6800 MB/s

Read Speed

Indicative size for the maximum speed of the hard disk during data reading. The larger the size, the faster the data reading speed.

An average reading speed for an SSD using the SATA III protocol is 600MB/s, while for one with NVMe it is 2000MB/s.

These differences make sense in particularly demanding use cases (e.g. high-resolution video editing). For most users, the differences will not be noticeable.

Maximum 4KB Random Write
180000 IOPS

Maximum 4KB Random Write

Indicative size for the maximum speed of the hard disk in data recording during general use, for example (opening the computer/using applications). The larger the size, the faster it is in these functions.

Average read speed for an SSD using the SATA III protocol is 80,000 IOPS, while for one with NVMe it is 380,000 IOPS.

These differences make sense in particularly demanding use (e.g. high-resolution video editing). For most users, the differences will not be noticeable.
