OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS: When you add the crystal compound to warm water, it dissolves into tiny particles. These particles are too small to see. The liquid is the solution of the powder. In fact, it is a saturated solution, because if you add more powder, it will not dissolve anymore. Gradually, the water cools down and some of it evaporates. Now, the water cannot keep all the particles dissolved, and some start to join together again. More particles join each other, and after a while, groups of particles join. The particles join in a way that creates the crystals you see, with straight edges and flat surfaces.
