The Google TV operating system is better than Android TV in some areas and not in others. For example, for watching movies or series, changing Wi-Fi/Bluetooth, it is fast and efficient. But for searching/updating apps, it is much more cumbersome.
It also does not allow customization of the home-feed and suggests content even from subscriptions or apps you don't have a subscription to, without giving you the option to move or delete it from the home screen.
Fortunately, unlike the basic Chromecast, you can connect it to dual band internet independently. However, if you want connectivity with Google Home with features like screen mirroring or remote control via mobile, you will need to disable dual band.
The remote that comes with it is nice to use. The only problem I encountered was some disconnections which are now fixed. Apart from that, on some TVs you can control it via the TV's remote or, as I mentioned before, from your phone via the app.
Although it is now hard to find, I recommend it to anyone who wants a fast and more premium solution to stream content to a non-smart TV.

I have had it for 4 years. Until last spring it was very good and had no connectivity issues. Since the summer, it often loses connection to the wifi with the router just 2 meters away. I read in forums that many people have had the same problem in recent months, probably due to the latest software update (v14) it received.

Very good at first, it made the TV a smart TV, it connected to the internet, everything was fine! 2 years later it disconnects from the internet on its own and it freezes quite a lot, more and more in apps, on the keyboard, and in connection.

Μετά από αρκετές αποτυχημένες προσπάθειες σε Κινέζικα ανώνυμα tv boxes δοκίμασα αυτό που παρόλο φαίνεται φτωχό σε specs κάνει ακριβώς ότι πρέπει χωρίς παρενέργειες.
Δέχεται εφαρμογές εκτός playstore, κάνει συχνές αναβαθμίσεις και συμπεριφέρεται άψογα στον χειρισμό.
Στα 80€ δεν πρέπει να υπάρχει ανταγωνιστής...

This concerns the HD version and was connected to a 47-inch 3D LG from 2012 because its software is laughable. It has given additional years of operation to the television without exaggeration. Everything works exclusively through it, Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video, Spotify, YouTube, and Eon. It is quite fast in all of these. It opens quickly. Sometimes, rarely, it shows some delay in opening, but not anything bothersome. Only in the Eon app is it a bit slower than the original decoder, but not by a large margin.

Όλα λειτουργούν αποκλειστικά μέσα από εκεί, Netflix, Disney+,Prime video, Spotify, Youtube και Eon. Είναι σε όλα αυτά αρκετά γρήγορο. Ανοίγει γρήγορα. Κάποιες φορές, σπάνια, παρουσιάζει κάποια καθυστέρηση στο άνοιγμα, αλλά όχι κάτι ενοχλητικό. Μόνο στην εφαρμογή της Eon είναι λίγο πιο αργό από τον original αποκωδικοποιητη αλλά όχι σε μεγάλο βαθμό.

First of all, it forced me to download the "heavy" Google Home app (470 MB), just to watch TV. Then, during the setup process, it got stuck on the language selection! (It showed me an error message and wouldn't proceed.) When I finally closed and reopened the app, hoping it would unfreeze, it couldn't detect the device!! And I don't see any phone number for technical support anywhere! The initial impression is disappointing…

Ουσιαστικά δλδ να κάνεις cast την εικόνα από το κινητό στην tv και τον ήχο από το κινητό στο Bluetooth. Σωστά; Δοκίμασα να το κάνω αλλά δε βρήκα τον τρόπο. Αν το έχει κάνει κάποιος ας μας διαφωτίσει για το πώς επιτυγχάνεται.

Θα παίζουν αλλά δεν έχει νόημα, εσύ θα συνεχίσεις να βλέπεις full hd, αφού η οθόνη σου δεν θα μπορεί να αναπαράγει τα παραπάνω pixels. Κάποιες φορές μπορεί και να κολλάει.

The Google TV operating system is better than Android TV in some areas and not in others. For example, for watching movies or series, changing Wi-Fi/Bluetooth, it is fast and efficient. But for searching/updating apps, it is much more cumbersome.
It also does not allow customization of the home-feed and suggests content even from subscriptions or apps you don't have a subscription to, without giving you the option to move or delete it from the home screen.
Fortunately, unlike the basic Chromecast, you can connect it to dual band internet independently. However, if you want connectivity with Google Home with features like screen mirroring or remote control via mobile, you will need to disable dual band.
The remote that comes with it is nice to use. The only problem I encountered was some disconnections which are now fixed. Apart from that, on some TVs you can control it via the TV's remote or, as I mentioned before, from your phone via the app.
Although it is now hard to find, I recommend it to anyone who wants a fast and more premium solution to stream content to a non-smart TV.

Δέχεται εφαρμογές εκτός playstore, κάνει συχνές αναβαθμίσεις και συμπεριφέρεται άψογα στον χειρισμό.

This concerns the HD version and was connected to a 47-inch 3D LG from 2012 because its software is laughable. It has given additional years of operation to the television without exaggeration. Sometimes, rarely, it shows some delay in opening, but not anything bothersome. Only in the Eon app is it a bit slower than the original decoder, but not by a large margin.

First of all, it forced me to download the "heavy" Google Home app (470 MB), just to watch TV. Then, during the setup process, it got stuck on the language selection! (It showed me an error message and wouldn't proceed.) When I finally closed and reopened the app, hoping it would unfreeze, it couldn't detect the device!! And I don't see any phone number for technical support anywhere! The initial impression is disappointing…

After the Apple TV, the best streaming box I have used. I wanted to buy 2-3 but its price has skyrocketed now that it is out of the market.
