It didn't just drain my oil, but my soul until it started working. And since then, it has been working perfectly. On the first connection with the original firmware, HA found it immediately, but I didn't keep it at all. I switched to coordinator firmware and MQTT. The only difference in the guide from my version was with the buttons to enter the bootloader; I held down the boot, pressed reset and released it, it entered the bootloader and then I released the boot. While the instructions say it differently, which didn't work for me. Otherwise, I followed it to the letter.

Update: A year later, I wasn't satisfied. It would often lose connection with some devices, and to reconnect them I had to cut the power. That's fine if you're at home. But what if you're not and the shutters stay open? That's why I switched to the Smlight Slzb-06u and so far I am 100% satisfied with this one. I am removing one star, since I have found something more reliable. If you are searching, it's better to go for the Slzb.

Αν δεν εισαι κ τα ρολα μείνουν ανοιχτά; Γι αυτό έκανα τη μεταβαση στο Smlight Slzb-06u και προς το παρόν είμαι 100% ευχαριστημένος απο το συγκεκριμένο. Αφαιρώ ένα αστέρι, εφόσον εχω βρει κατι πιο αξιόπιστο. Αν ειστε σε φαση αναζήτησης καλυτερα προτιμηστε το Slzb.
It took me a bit to get it working until I installed the firmware needed to work with zigbee2Mqtt because the original one was a very old version and has been deprecated. Other than that, it works perfectly.
Μου έβγαλε λίγο την Παναγίτσα μέχρι να βαλω το firmware που χρειάζεται για να παίζει με zigbee2Mqtt γιατι το μαμισιο ήταν πολύ παλιά έκδοση και εχει φάει deprication. Kατατάλα παίζει άψογα.
Very good combination with RPI5, used for Home Assistant and so far it is the best Coordinator I have had. It does not need a USB cable to be removed from the RPI in my case, I have not encountered any problems with temperatures or interference. So far, 61 Zigbee devices have been connected via Z2M through the ZB dongle and not a single pair has failed nor has it been necessary to remove a device and pair it again. For its price, it is one of the best options on the market.
Πολύ καλός συνδυασμός με RPI5 , χρησιμοποιείται για Home Assistant και μέχρι στιγμής είναι ο καλύτερος Coordinator που είχα. Δεν χρειάζεται καλώδιο USB για να απομακρυνθεί απο το RPI στην περίπτωσή μου , δεν έχω αντιμετωπίσει πρόβλημα με θερμοκρασίες ή παρεμβολές .
Εως τωρα μέσω Z2M έχουν συνδεθεί 61 συσκευές Zigbee μέσω του ZB dongle και δεν έχει αστοχήσει κανένα pair ούτε χρειάστηκε να αφαιρίσω συσκευή και να την κάνω πάλι pair.

Flawless! I have passed it to Home Assistant VM from Proxmox as a USB Device and it works without any issues. Home Assistant found it immediately and gave me the option to download the integration. It finds the devices straight away and so far has not shown the slightest problem.

As mentioned in other reviews, Home Assistant running on a VM via VMware recognized it immediately! I had an issue with a motion sensor from Sonoff that was working with a Tuya hub. I never managed to use it. With the ZHA integration of Home Assistant, the sensor worked flawlessly! If you want a ZigBee coordinator, I think this is the way to go for the money. In case you want to work with MQTT, there are guides on the internet that make the change easy.
Update 29.02:
Immediate recognition of a Xiaomi Zigbee switch (https://www.skroutz.gr/s/21599679/Xiaomi-Mi-Smart-Home-Wireless-Switch-WXKG01LM-Smart-Endiamesos-Diakoptis-me-Syndesi-ZigBee-se-Leyko-CHroma.html) that gives 6 different actions through HA. Even though it was placed in a different room and there is a wall in between, the response to commands is immediate.
Update 4.3:
After flashing (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E39ECyCXJaA) with multi-protocol RCP firmware that also supports thread/matter (https://smarthomescene.com/guides/how-to-enable-thread-and-matter-support-on-sonoff-zbdongle-e/), the range increased. Pay attention if you are running HA on a VM because the CPU load increases as the processing for the zigbee network is done by the host, I saw an increase of about 8%-10%.
Όπως αναφέρουν και άλλες κριτικές σε Home Assistant που τρέχει σε VM μέσω VMware το αναγνώρισε αμέσως! Είχα θέμα με έναν αισθητήρα κίνησης της sonoff που δούλευε με ένα hub της tuya. Δεν κατάφερα ποτέ να τον χρησιμοποιήσω. Με το ZHA integration του Home Assistant ο αισθητήρας δούλεψε υποδειγματικά! Αν θέλετε ZigBee coordinator νομίζω στα χρήματα αυτά είναι μονόδρομος. Σε περίπτωση που θέλετε να το δουλέψετε με MQTT υπάρχουν οδηγοί στο internet που εύκολα γίνεται η αλλαγή.

Με home assistant μέσω VMware συνδέεται με συσκευές μια χαρά, εγώ όμως το πήρα για να λειτουργει σαν repeater (router) ενός ihost της sonoff και δυστυχώς ότι προσπάθειες να έχω κάνει μέσω windows και raspberry δεν έχω καταφέρει να του περάσω το σχετικό firmware - ούτε καν έχουν λειτουργήσει τα drivers του στα windows (device cannot start) οπότε δεν έχει επιτελέσει τον σκοπό για τον οποίο το αγόρασω. Δεκτή φυσικά οποιαδήποτε πληροφορία από tech expert ώστε να του βάλω το router firmware στις ερωτήσειςτου προϊόντος, ότι βγάζει στο google τα έχω δοκιμάσει όλα χωρίς επιτυχία ακόμα κα στο raspberry την στιγμή που πάει να του περάσει το firmware δεν μπορεί να συνδεθεί με την συσκευή.

"After an exhausting 48-hour troubleshooting session in a Synology VMM (Virtual Machine Manager) environment, the conclusion is clear: This particular Dongle Plus (V2) is an excellent tool, but it is by no means Plug-and-Play. If you expect to just plug it in and have everything work magically without reading, you better look elsewhere.
Technical Analysis & Conclusions:
Hardware & Drivers: The stick is based on the EmberZNet 7.4.4 protocol. Although it fully supports Zigbee2MQTT (Z2M) with the Ember adapter driver, the complexity of the MQTT broker (Mosquitto) can be problematic on limited resources.
Virtual Machine Optimization: The most important finding was Memory Swapping. On a VM with just 1GB RAM, the system was constantly performing I/O writes to the NAS's mechanical disks (Disk Thrashing), causing annoying noise and latency. Upgrading to 3 vCPUs and 3GB RAM eliminated the swap file, quieted the disks, and boosted stability.
ZHA vs Z2M: For system simplicity, I ultimately chose ZHA (Zigbee Home Automation). It didn't just drain my oil, but my soul until it started working. And since then, it has been working perfectly. On the first connection with the original firmware, HA found it immediately, but I didn't keep it at all. I switched to coordinator firmware and MQTT. The only difference in the guide from my version was with the buttons to enter the bootloader; I held down the boot, pressed reset and released it, it entered the bootloader and then I released the boot. While the instructions say it differently, which didn't work for me. Otherwise, I followed it to the letter.

Update: A year later, I wasn't satisfied. It would often lose connection with some devices, and to reconnect them I had to cut the power. That's fine if you're at home. But what if you're not and the shutters stay open? That's why I switched to the Smlight Slzb-06u and so far I am 100% satisfied with this one. I am removing one star, since I have found something more reliable. If you are searching, it's better to go for the Slzb.

Update: Ενα χρόνο μετά, δεν ήμουν ευχαριστημένος. Συχνα πυκνα εχανε τη σύνδεση με κάποιες συσκευές που για να συνδεθούν ξανά έπρεπε να κόψω τροφοδοσία. Κ καλά να εισαι σπίτι. Αν δεν εισαι κ τα ρολα μείνουν ανοιχτά; Γι αυτό έκανα τη μεταβαση στο Smlight Slzb-06u και προς το παρόν είμαι 100% ευχαριστημένος απο το συγκεκριμένο. Αφαιρώ ένα αστέρι, εφόσον εχω βρει κατι πιο αξιόπιστο. Αν ειστε σε φαση αναζήτησης καλυτερα προτιμηστε το Slzb.
It took me a bit to get it working until I installed the firmware needed to work with zigbee2Mqtt because the original one was a very old version and has been deprecated. Other than that, it works perfectly.
Μου έβγαλε λίγο την Παναγίτσα μέχρι να βαλω το firmware που χρειάζεται για να παίζει με zigbee2Mqtt γιατι το μαμισιο ήταν πολύ παλιά έκδοση και εχει φάει deprication. Kατατάλα παίζει άψογα.
Very good combination with RPI5, used for Home Assistant and so far it is the best Coordinator I have had. It does not need a USB cable to be removed from the RPI in my case, I have not encountered any problems with temperatures or interference. So far, 61 Zigbee devices have been connected via Z2M through the ZB dongle and not a single pair has failed nor has it been necessary to remove a device and pair it again. For its price, it is one of the best options on the market.
Πολύ καλός συνδυασμός με RPI5 , χρησιμοποιείται για Home Assistant και μέχρι στιγμής είναι ο καλύτερος Coordinator που είχα. Δεν χρειάζεται καλώδιο USB για να απομακρυνθεί απο το RPI στην περίπτωσή μου , δεν έχω αντιμετωπίσει πρόβλημα με θερμοκρασίες ή παρεμβολές .
Εως τωρα μέσω Z2M έχουν συνδεθεί 61 συσκευές Zigbee μέσω του ZB dongle και δεν έχει αστοχήσει κανένα pair ούτε χρειάστηκε να αφαιρίσω συσκευή και να την κάνω πάλι pair.
Για τα χρήματα του είναι από τις καλύτερες επιλογές της αγοράς.
Flawless! I have passed it to Home Assistant VM from Proxmox as a USB Device and it works without any issues. Home Assistant found it immediately and gave me the option to download the integration. It finds the devices straight away and so far has not shown the slightest problem.

As mentioned in other reviews, Home Assistant running on a VM via VMware recognized it immediately! I had an issue with a motion sensor from Sonoff that was working with a Tuya hub. I never managed to use it. With the ZHA integration of Home Assistant, the sensor worked flawlessly! If you want a ZigBee coordinator, I think this is the way to go for the money. In case you want to work with MQTT, there are guides on the internet that make the change easy.
Update 29.02:
Immediate recognition of a Xiaomi Zigbee switch (https://www.skroutz.gr/s/21599679/Xiaomi-Mi-Smart-Home-Wireless-Switch-WXKG01LM-Smart-Endiamesos-Diakoptis-me-Syndesi-ZigBee-se-Leyko-CHroma.html) that gives 6 different actions through HA. Even though it was placed in a different room and there is a wall in between, the response to commands is immediate.
Update 4.3:
After flashing (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E39ECyCXJaA) with multi-protocol RCP firmware that also supports thread/matter (https://smarthomescene.com/guides/how-to-enable-thread-and-matter-support-on-sonoff-zbdongle-e/), the range increased. Pay attention if you are running HA on a VM because the CPU load increases as the processing for the zigbee network is done by the host, I saw an increase of about 8%-10%.
Όπως αναφέρουν και άλλες κριτικές σε Home Assistant που τρέχει σε VM μέσω VMware το αναγνώρισε αμέσως! Είχα θέμα με έναν αισθητήρα κίνησης της sonoff που δούλευε με ένα hub της tuya. Δεν κατάφερα ποτέ να τον χρησιμοποιήσω. Με το ZHA integration του Home Assistant ο αισθητήρας δούλεψε υποδειγματικά! Αν θέλετε ZigBee coordinator νομίζω στα χρήματα αυτά είναι μονόδρομος. Σε περίπτωση που θέλετε να το δουλέψετε με MQTT υπάρχουν οδηγοί στο internet που εύκολα γίνεται η αλλαγή.
Update 29.02:
Άμεση αναγνώριση σε zigbee διακόπτη Xiaomi (https://www.skroutz.gr/s/21599679/Xiaomi-Mi-Smart-Home-Wireless-Switch-WXKG01LM-Smart-Endiamesos-Diakoptis-me-Syndesi-ZigBee-se-Leyko-CHroma.html) που μέσω HA δίνει 6 διαφορετικά actions. Μετά από φλασάρισμα (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E39ECyCXJaA) με multi-protocol RCP firmware το οποίο υποστηρίζει και thread/matter (https://smarthomescene.com/guides/how-to-enable-thread-and-matter-support-on-sonoff-zbdongle-e/) αυξήθηκε η εμβέλεια. Δώστε προσοχή αν τρέχετε το HA σε VM το CPU load επειδή το processing για το zigbee network γίνεται από το host, είδα μία αύξηση της τάξης του 8%-10%.

Update: Ενα χρόνο μετά, δεν ήμουν ευχαριστημένος. Συχνα πυκνα εχανε τη σύνδεση με κάποιες συσκευές που για να συνδεθούν ξανά έπρεπε να κόψω τροφοδοσία. Κ καλά να εισαι σπίτι. Αν δεν εισαι κ τα ρολα μείνουν ανοιχτά; Γι αυτό έκανα τη μεταβαση στο Smlight Slzb-06u και προς το παρόν είμαι 100% ευχαριστημένος απο το συγκεκριμένο. Αφαιρώ ένα αστέρι, εφόσον εχω βρει κατι πιο αξιόπιστο. Αν ειστε σε φαση αναζήτησης καλυτερα προτιμηστε το Slzb.
It took me a bit to get it working until I installed the firmware needed to work with zigbee2Mqtt because the original one was a very old version and has been deprecated. Other than that, it works perfectly.
Μου έβγαλε λίγο την Παναγίτσα μέχρι να βαλω το firmware που χρειάζεται για να παίζει με zigbee2Mqtt γιατι το μαμισιο ήταν πολύ παλιά έκδοση και εχει φάει deprication. Kατατάλα παίζει άψογα.
