The Hoya Density II 3-400 is a variable neutral density filter that controls the amount of light entering the lens through two polarizing layers. The ring rotates between the “Min” and “Max” markings, allowing you to adjust the amount of light and select a reduction of 1.5 to 9 stops. This makes it suitable for shooting with a wide aperture in bright sunlight or for longer exposures, such as capturing motion in water, cars, or people.
The filter’s optical glass is manufactured by Hoya Corporation. A tripod is recommended when shooting with slow shutter speeds.
