If your cat sticks his paw through the opening then retreats his paw, he will hurt himself as stated in other reviews. Since we are using this door inside our house, we are going to try to alter the door so it doesn't trap their paws.

    My cat's paw got stuck due to the rubber edge and then panicked and twisted his body to try and get out. He hurt his paw and walked around limping for a few days. This made me feel unsure about this cat door and i wouldn't dare leaving my cat alone with this door so I went back to the ferplast swing 1/3/5 which never caused such issues.
