Description

Description

The purpose of this book is to prepare the student in the best possible way, presenting in detail the entire curriculum of the chapters on Waves and Quantum Mechanics in Physics for the 12th grade.

Includes detailed theory, multiple-choice and open-ended questions, solved exercises-problems, as well as exercises and problems for practice.

  • The theory is presented using the question-and-answer method. Where deemed necessary, we have provided some additional information to help clarify subtle points of the theory. At the end of the theory section of each chapter, there are questions for revision.
  • The questions are structured according to type (closed-type – Topic A of the Panhellenic Exams and open-type – Topic B of the Panhellenic Exams). Specifically, the closed-type questions are divided into Group A questions (based on the theory of the school textbook) and Group B questions (questions for deeper understanding).
  • In the solved exercises-problems of each chapter, the methodology is integrated at key points, which students often encounter when solving exercises and problems. There is also detailed guidance on what students should not forget after studying the solved example, as well as an indication of which exercises to solve are similar for practice.
  • The exercises to be solved include basic concepts that students need to master before moving on to the problems to be solved, which require more complex thinking.
  • In each section (before the closed-type questions), there is a detailed study proposal structured in two levels. The first level refers to basic study, while the second level refers to in-depth study.
  • For all questions, exercises, and problems to be solved, detailed solutions are provided at the end of the book.

  • I would recommend it for purchase
  • - Quite a good aid for the field of Quantum Mechanics. However, an update is needed to cover more combinational topics (according to the 2024 exams).
    - The section on waves needs a better presentation of the methodology.
    - Ideally, it should be integrated with another issue (e.g. solid body mechanics) so that multiple issues are not required and the overall cost is lower.

  • It is very good, it has detailed theory along with solved examples for practice and many exercises, the solutions of which are found at the end. I recommend it

  • It is not adapted to the new curriculum for 2022-23 (e.g. it includes composition of oscillations that is not part of the curriculum and exercises with motion equations with initial phase different from 0 and π/2 which are also not part of the curriculum). This can confuse a candidate, especially if they do not have guidance from above.

  • The theory is scattered and confusing, making the student go back and forth. The real important parts are not distinguished while many are borderline out of the curriculum.

In the absence of other good resources, it is a temporary solution due to the variety of topics A and B.

The exercises on oscillations are very simple for average students.
