I have successfully performed the hack on my Macbook Air Early 2015 using this tool and everything works perfectly. For anyone trying it, you need to format the disk to APFS on another PC first, then transfer it to the MBA and boot with CMD+OPTION+R. From there, connect to Wi-Fi, leave the charger on the machine, and download the recommended software from the Recovery menu. No need to create a bootable USB or anything, it's all straightforward. I got this little board from China for around three euros instead of the 30 euros that the clever Greek sells it for. The disk I used is the Western Digital Black SN 770, it has been tested and works flawlessly on the MBA Early 15'.
