Battery with thin terminals, i.e. Japanese type (type B24 according to JIS standards). European DIN batteries have thick terminals and do not fit Japanese models.

Pay attention to polarity! The indication R (Right) or L (Left) shows where the NEGATIVE terminal is: B24R type batteries have the negative terminal on the right and the positive (red) on the left. Whereas B24L types have the negative terminal on the left and the positive (red) on the right.

In the Suzuki Swift IV (2017-) a B24L type is installed, so the Bosch S4020 battery fits (the corresponding B24R model is the S4022).

The factory battery was a Japanese Furukawa FB Hi Dash open type (!) which lasted 6 years (!!). 45Ah with 295 Amp starting current, sufficient given that the car does not have a start-stop system. When I replaced it in 2023 I chose the Bosch S4020, also 45Ah but with 330 Amp starting current (60 euros at the time), and I expected equally good performance.

Traditionally I prefer German batteries (Bosch, Varta), but this time I was disappointed by the lifespan. Just before 3 years, this one failed us twice. I recognize that the usage of the car does not help (often the trips are short, with many stops and starts). But I expected more.

Both times it failed, the battery returned to 4/4 with the portable charger. But it was clear it had reached the end of its life, I could no longer trust it, and for 70-80 euros it was not worth delaying the replacement.

This time I chose a battery with even higher starting current, the Hankook MF50B24L (45Ah and CCA 400A). Good price at 68 euros. Korean. The mechanic said that German batteries do not work well with Japanese and Korean car brands. I don't see the logic in that, but we'll see how it goes.

I bought it in December 2020 for about 45 euros. It took two months to close three years and then the problems started. It's a shame because it's supposed to last for 5 years... in the car that I have put it in for the Daihatsu Terios

After 3 years, it gave up. It's not possible. I ran out of battery in the 3rd year, while I always used to change it at least every 5 years. I never leave lights, alarms, etc. on to drain the battery.
I will try a cheaper brand this time. In the end, we only pay for the advertisement.
