Description & Specifications

The relationships between the Natural Sciences and Religion can be said to have been cooperative from antiquity until the Renaissance. This does not mean, of course, that there were not during this long period cases of questioning religion in the name of science. However, these were isolated and sporadic.

After the Renaissance, particularly during the Age of Enlightenment, the questioning of religion intensified in the name of the autonomy of human reasoning. Subsequently, this atheistic tendency intensified even more, culminating in the second half of the 19th century, due to the rapidly developing natural sciences at that time.

However, the 20th century brings a turn towards the spirit and the search for God. This turn is particularly striking, as it is reflected in the works of the leading representatives of modern Natural Science, such as Max Planck, Einstein, Werner Heisenberg, and others. This development, however, does not mean that the anti-religious current has disappeared. On the contrary, it is dynamically present.

Recently, it has even been strengthened by the so-called "new atheists," who do not merely question religion but vehemently oppose it because they consider it harmful to humanity. These observations have prompted us to write this study, hoping that through it we will help the reader to somewhat better approach the issue of the relationship between natural science and religion.
