The squad can discover shortcuts, create safe zones, and place motion trackers in a world that is constantly affected by their actions. Marines can be upgraded and specialised with skills, weapons, armour, and perks, while the base develops to support research into new technologies. Managing the squad’s health, resources, and mental state is essential to prevent permanent losses and psychological breakdowns.
