The headphones are great, but what's the point? When all of this is ruined by the tragic "ssss - hissing sound" they make, permanently. Obviously, I changed plugs, cables, and input methods, thinking that an external factor was affecting them, and still the same. I even tried them in other houses, in case it was a ground loop. Same thing. It's obvious that they are cheap D-Class Amps... Come on, Edifier.

As soon as they turn on, they make this sound, even if they are not connected anywhere. Increasing the volume makes the hissing worse, to the point where it can be heard over songs. Okay, they are active speakers, you expect a subtle hissing from the tweeters, but not this mess.

The worst thing I ever bought... Money wasted on something that someone would have in an office with a computer, as it is right in front of you and the sound becomes incredibly annoying. I will never touch Edifier with such cheap electronics again.

As a comparison, the Logitech Z333 that I have had for 6 years, while the headphones may be mediocre and clearly inferior to the 1280T, they don't produce the slightest noise and play flawlessly. It's a shame because I thought Edifier was a reputable company.

Starting by mentioning that I have had these speakers for 3.5 years in my office and I use them daily for 2-6 hours. I got the white version, but since they are made of wood, they don't have issues with fading and such.
Additionally, I would like to mention that this is the second time I purchase an Edifier product, after the previous and more humble "Edifier R12U" which lasted for about 2.5 years (back then they cost 15€). I chose bookshelf speakers because I had previously used different speaker sets (2.1, 5.1) with a woofer, and I didn't want to focus on the bass or deal with multiple cables scattered around the room. I wanted balanced 2.0 speakers for all purposes. After some research, I chose these ones.

They are ideal for the office and have a very reasonable size. They have a nice and clear sound that can be adjusted with the bass and treble switches to suit your preferences. Additionally, in terms of volume, they are perfect for a room of around 12 square meters, considering they are used in an office. They are quite powerful and don't distort at high volumes.
Mainly, I listen to music and use them for everyday tasks like watching videos and occasionally gaming or watching movies.

I'm not an expert in music, so I can't go into details known by those who are involved in it. However, as a regular user who has changed 4-5 speaker sets in the 15 years I've had a personal computer, including 2.1 and 5.1 speakers in the corresponding price range, these speakers are much better than all the previous ones for my own uses and requirements. It's clear that the sound quality improves with higher investments and making the right choices. But these speakers are aimed at general use, and in that regard, they are very commendable.

Now, I should add that I chose this version back then and not the Bluetooth one because I didn't have any requirements or need for wireless speaker connection at that time. However, due to the PS5, I bought the "TP-LINK HA100 v1 Bluetooth 4.1 Receiver" along with the "Ugreen USB Wireless Bluetooth 5.0 Adapter" (since the PS5 doesn't accept wireless audio devices other than its own) and I can easily do my job.
It has 2 pairs of RCA connectors, one of which I use to connect to the PC and the other for the receiver.

Finally, these speakers are definitely worth it for what they offer. When I bought them 3.5 years ago, they cost around 65€-70€, and they were an amazing value for money, as well as their Bluetooth version which was around 100€ (also very good). I definitely recommend them for anyone who wants to use them daily, listen to their music clearly, occasionally at high volumes, and also for gaming or watching movies, keeping in mind that they are intended for a room. If you want Bluetooth, you can check out their corresponding version with Bluetooth (R1280DB) which also has optical and coaxial inputs.

*Note: Since they have a power switch, I turn them off when I don't need them and they are rarely left on, only if I forget.

Purchased for 100 euros to replace the Creative GigaWorks T40 Series II, which after some years my ears could no longer tolerate. I bought them exclusively for use on PC, mainly for music and secondarily for gaming. Compared to the Creative, there is no comparison; they are clearly far superior. Generally, they have a warm sound, clear, but for my tastes, the out-of-the-box sound did not impress me. With a few adjustments to the treble & bass of the speakers, it came much closer to my preferences. With some extra minor adjustments to the EQ of the sound card, I think I now have them exactly where I want them based on what they can offer. Overall, they have a decent sound, but those who love strong bass might feel like something is missing... In my case, it doesn't bother me as I greatly appreciate their clarity and warm sound, and the bass they produce satisfies me. Definitely, for the purpose I bought them and in comparison to my previous speakers, I am extremely satisfied, especially considering they are in the same price category as the Creative GigaWorks T40 Series II that they replaced. Clearly, there are many speaker sets with superior sound out there, but I doubt anyone will find something better for this price if they want a clean, warm sound without wanting to feel the bass in their chest. I consider them an excellent VFM choice, and if you find them on sale for 75 euros, you might feel like you stole from a church... AS LONG AS you dedicate a little time to set them up. Before I start the review, things you should know about me and my standards in sound are that I love a flat, big sound, not too much bass, no various effects, just a flat sound.

For 100€, these are the most impressive speakers I have ever heard. The build quality is amazing, sturdy and beautiful speakers, with nicely combined materials. The knobs for adjusting the bass, treble, and volume are very high-quality and incredibly easy to install. You won't believe how big the sound is and how well it is reproduced in these speakers, considering their small size.

Now that I have mentioned the basic characteristics, let's move on to the detailed sound description. The bass, due to displacing the air from the front, can be felt directly in your chest. It is clean, although it becomes slightly muddy around 130-150Hz. I can't find the right balance when adjusting it with the bass knob. If I lower it, there is no bass at all, and if I boost it, it sounds muddy in the mentioned frequencies. Overall, the bass is very good and doesn't distort even when the speakers are playing at maximum volume. The mid and high frequencies are quite flat and clear, and depending on the room where you place them, you can adjust them to always sound clean. In general, the frequency response of the speakers performs according to the room, but they always sound very full and clear.

General rating for each quality, in my opinion, is:

Overall impression and what you will see:

These are not speakers for sound mixing, but they are enjoyable to listen to music, especially considering their size. You won't believe that they produce such high-quality sound and volume for their price of 100€.

Let me add my experience as well.
Obviously, the many positive reviews played a big role in their selection, and I consider them decent for the price category (75€).
Firstly, they are really beautiful in appearance, elegant, and suitable for many spaces, even on a desk where I have them.
The build quality is really good, you can feel the center of the volume controls, for example, with the touch, they have weight, etc.

As for the sound, they don't blow your mind, especially out of the box. Personally, I connected them to a SoundBlaster Audigy FX, with some settings and EQ, and they improved a lot. They are not TRAGICALLY far from PC speakers like Z333, etc., but they definitely don't disappoint. The bass is present, but if you are used to a subwoofer, you can tell the difference. Edifier claims they reach 75hz+, but from my testing, I saw that they hit around 55-60.

In terms of price, I think you pay for the materials and the higher quality rather than the acoustic result.
They still remain a value-for-money choice, though, and I will recommend them as well.

They are worth their money, let's start from there.

They won't impress, they are not for large spaces, but they offer better sound quality than many alternatives.

Treble: Out of the box, they sound muffled with the highs pulled back. With the help of the dial on the side, you can increase the treble to +2, allowing the tweeter to work and bring the highs and the upper half of the midrange forward, making the vocals more direct and clear.

Mids: Out of the box, they are dark. You can hardly hear them. By increasing the treble dial to 2, they come forward and sound full.

Bass: Out of the box, it is non-existent. Here, the initial configuration and the fact that the cone driver is very small and without much rubber around it to make a large displacement play a role (you hear the bass based on the air that the speaker moves towards you. Smaller speaker diameter = the speaker needs to move back and forth more to move the same volume of air). We turn the bass dial to +4. The bass is now noticeable, but we are still talking about the upper range of low frequencies. The speaker is small, so it cannot go very low in frequency. You will feel the "thump" but it won't shake your chest.

Build quality: Very good. Solid construction, no creaking, the grills are of very good quality and aesthetics.

Remote control: Small, you will lose it within the first week. If you don't lose it, it is convenient. The negative aspect is that you cannot control the EQ through the remote control.

First day of purchase 5-5-2021.
I come from the Logitec Z555 system initially. Out of curiosity, I got these specific ones. The Z555s naturally have plenty of bass. That's it. From there onwards, the Edifiers do the job. I tried them on my laptop, for the reason I got them, on SACD and turntable. I heard frequencies that I didn't hear from the Z555s. Excellent sound quality, tight bass, wonderful highs.
On 7-5-2021, I connected them to the Sound Blaster Play 3 sound card, which costs 20 euros and had very good reviews that I had read. The speakers transformed until, in my opinion, they couldn't get any better. The volume increased, the highs became velvety, and the bass clearly upgraded... wonderful...!!
On 9-5-2021, I downloaded the "broken" Isotek Full System Enhancer CD and played it at moderate volume for about an hour, connecting the poles in reverse on one speaker (R) and vice versa. (Read about it and you'll understand what it does.) About 2-3 points gap between them, to avoid interference from different sounds, from various frequencies, across the entire audio spectrum... 0-20Khz.

Extreme transformation to a higher level..! My ears have been blown away.. nothing else.
P.S... For the record, I am a HiFi enthusiast with experience even with tube systems. The Edifiers have fantastic sound for their price, very high quality.
