A big disadvantage, since I don't have it connected to a hose and I get water from a bucket, is that the hose that comes with the kit is of very poor quality, resulting in constant loss of pressure because it gets tangled and kinked. I don't know if a thicker hose would make any difference. I wouldn't recommend it for almost anything—even with a garden watering can, trying to rinse (in my case a car) does a better job.
