The Maneki Neko cat, also known as the welcoming cat or the lucky cat, is a Japanese sculpture believed to bring good luck to its owner. The smiling cat with its raised paw attracts wealth and good fortune.

The golden cat is a figurine that symbolizes good luck and abundance in feng shui. Place it so that it faces the entrance of your home or office.

The sculpture features a cat waving in an upright position, with one of its front paws raised, inviting people to come inside. It is commonly found at the entrance of shops and other workplaces. It has its left front paw raised and holds an ancient Japanese coin, the Koban, with its right front paw. It wears a necklace with a bell, which is believed to ward off evil spirits.

The lucky cat is usually made of porcelain, ceramic, or plastic. In the authentic porcelain version, the paw is continuously raised, while in today's plastic versions it moves up and down. It is believed that the higher it raises its paw, the greater its influence.

The word Maneki comes from the verb 'maneku,' which means 'to invite someone to come in.' Neko means 'cat.' Together they mean 'cat that invites people to come in.'
