Chateau Desmirail is a dry red wine made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. The vineyard is planted in deep gravel, sandy and clay soils, and the vines have an average age of 20 years.
Fermentation takes place in wooden and stainless steel vats, with the older vines vinified in wooden vats. Malolactic fermentation takes place in vat, and the wine is aged for 12 to 18 months in French oak barrels, 40% of which are new, before bottling.
