Extremely efficient solar panels. They charge effortlessly. It charged the battery to 100% (it was at 89%) in half an hour. It does not require continuous sunlight. It is enough, as it says, about 30 minutes. However, the batteries charge even without the solar rays directly hitting the panel. That means that just the fact that it has dawned and there is no heavy cloud cover, the batteries (if they are connected) charge and only stop when they reach 100%, so the green indicator with the lightning bolt gives way to the battery indicator with the number 100 (fully charged), so the solar charging stops!!!
Attention: each panel is connected and charges only one battery!

I went to install it and to my great surprise I saw that the connection is made with micro USB! All tapo cameras use a USB-C connection. I had to use an adapter to connect it to my camera! Unacceptable both for TAPO and for the product description on skroutz. The type of connection should be stated!

  • The construction is good, the length of the cable is also much longer than on some other similar products, which helps with placement. I wish that it was a C-type USB plug, which is much more convenient, but TP-Link (like many manufacturers) are still set on the older style plug. I guess it is hard for them to change all products at once and then you have compatibility issues. The panel has a nice thick coating which should help to protect the surface of the solar panel. The mounting is the standard camera tripod mount so loads of easy options for fitting.

argiannak
