Description

Nail files are essential for every nail stylist. There are many types on the market, made from different materials and shapes. What you should pay the most attention to is the grit (or grain) of the file. The numbers that refer to files 80, 100, 180, 240 relate to the numbers corresponding to the number of grains per 1 cm2 of the file. The lower the grade, the coarser the grit.

  • Coarse - 80 grit - used for removing edges and other elements from the nail plate. They are mainly used by more experienced nail stylists, as they can be relatively easy to damage.
  • Medium grit - 100 grit - these are the most commonly chosen classic nail files. They are used for shaping natural nails, for shaping extended nails, as well as for applying gel.
  • Fine grit - 180/240 grit - have many applications, they are very versatile. They are ideal for finishing tips, for filling nails with acrylic or gel, as well as for shortening and smoothing natural nails.
  • Buffing - grit above 300 - we distinguish the polishing levels, giving shine and luster to natural nails. They are used to complete the manicure and make it perfectly refined and more beautiful.

When using nail files of various grits, it is worth remembering that you should first use coarse and last - fine. Only this sequence is correct.
