Description

The Throumba is a special variety of black olive, which utilizes a unique and distinctive drying process. It offers a special taste that is highly sought after by expert connoisseurs.

  • Ripening: Hand-harvested directly from the tree.
  • Flavor: Unique taste of the Thassian variety.
  • Preservation: Maintained in a low-salt environment.
  • Packaging: In modified atmosphere with nitrogen.
  • Aromatic herbs: Paired with aromatic herbs from Mount Athos.

Black olives are richer in total tocopherols compared to green olives and are the only ones containing beta-tocopherols and alpha-tocotrienols. The amount of salt used approaches the ideal level that allows preservation of the olive without making it overly salty. The nitrogen modified atmosphere method applied during packaging ensures that the olive is not compressed and retains its liquids along with beneficial nutrients. Thyme, coriander, anise, fennel, and lemon provide a distinctive and delicate flavor experience.

The product is not certified gluten-free and is not suitable for people with celiac disease.
