Agave stricta f. nana Minas Asbestos - Agave
Family: Agavaceae
Pot diameter: 10.5 cm
Height: 15 cm
This is a perennial succulent plant that forms small to medium rosettes, reaching up to 1 m in height and width over time. It features thin and long leaves in a blue-green color. Its growth is initially upright and then climbs over time. Flowering occurs in the autumn on long stalks, and unlike many agaves, it is not monocarpic, which means the plant does not die after flowering.
Care:
- It requires full sunlight, although it can tolerate partial shade provided it receives plenty of light throughout the year.
- It prefers mild temperatures; however, it can survive at temperatures close to freezing as long as the soil is dry.
- Watering with a moderate amount of water only when the soil is completely dry: once every two weeks in spring and summer, and once every two months in autumn and winter.
- Ideal is soil with good drainage, and it is even better if further enriched with inert materials like clay granules, sand, or lava rock.
- Frequent fertilization is not needed; just dilute the fertilizer with watering once a year.
