The hastled-mosquito straight forceps 12.5 cm is commonly used to clamp smaller blood vessels or grasp finer delicate materials and tissues. The serrated version is used in meniscus surgery to grasp the meniscus or in other surgical procedures where a small grasping instrument may be needed.

Cleaning and care of the instruments:

• Clean and lubricate new instruments before the first sterilization.
• After use, disinfect, clean, lubricate, and sterilize the instruments as soon as possible.
• Instruments can be disinfected chemically, thermally, or immersed in a disinfectant and cleaning solution.
• Delicate instruments can also be sterilized in a cabinet with ultraviolet radiation.
• Rinse very carefully after cleaning, preferably with deionized water.
• Dry very thoroughly after washing.
• When lubrication is necessary, use only a lubricant based on mineral oil.
• Strictly follow the sterilization instructions provided by the manufacturer of the oven.
• In case of sterilization with hot air, the temperature must exceed 180 degrees Celsius.
• Do not use tools that have corroded.
