The 6x1.00 tap set consists of three hand taps for cutting internal threads in metal surfaces. It includes a No. 1 tap for easy starting in unfinished materials, a No. 2 tap for general use or for threads that do not need to extend to the bottom of the hole, and a No. 3 tap for cutting threads all the way to the bottom.

To use them, first drill a hole with a rotary drill, with a diameter larger than the tap’s core diameter and smaller than the outer diameter of the desired thread. Using a tap wrench or tap ratchet and cutting oil helps ensure a smoother process.
