The North-X-Hammer is a versatile, ergonomic ice tool with a handle for technical mountaineering, steep mixed terrain climbing, ice climbing, and glacier crossings.
The standout feature is the special sliding, easily adjustable hand rest. When you plunge into a steep foothold, the hand rest slides up as you ascend to promote energy-saving movement and a faster climb.
If you're on rock or ice, it locks when loaded for maximum support. The elastic strap (breaking strength 5 kN) integrated into the movable hand rest ensures that you won't lose the axe.
The forged steel handle and the 20° 7075 aluminum inclined shaft guarantee balanced, safe, and precise placement on all types of rock and ice.
The insulated synthetic grip provides effective cold protection – a real bonus on longer routes.
For added safety during descents, the North-X features a replaceable steel tip at the bottom instead of a spike, as it offers better retention on rocks and ice.
