The detector is installed on the ceiling at the highest point where smoke accumulates. When combustion products are detected, the unit activates an 80dB continuous sound alarm until the air is cleared.

The loud notification can be silenced by sending the test button to the correct position. To test, press and hold the test button for at least 1 second. If no alarm sounds, there may be a problem with the battery or other faults.

Required installation steps:

• Screw the base to the ceiling or wall with the included screws.
• Align the two notches on the back of the detector with the clips on the base.
• Hold the detector on the back and turn it clockwise to tighten.
