The Lobelia cardinalis grows naturally in North America. In nurseries, this plant is cultivated in marshy conditions, forming dark green leaves that are purple underneath. In aquariums, the leaves take on a beautiful light green hue, with shoots measuring 10-30 cm in height and 5-10 cm in width.
It is widely used in "Dutch type" aquariums in the so-called "plant streets." In open aquariums, it grows above the water surface, where it forms very beautiful red flowers, and the leaves regain their color. It can be used in artificial ponds.
