The laboratory tests of the ÖKO level-2 filter demonstrated the removal of 99.994% of e-coli, 99.9999% of cryptosporidium, and giardia lamblia, the widely found bacteria in lakes, streams, and international water sources. The material uses a positively charged electroadsorption process to attract and trap harmful agents much smaller than the size of the pores. ÖKO water bottles are made from a custom blend of plastics that have passed rigorous SGS tests for FDA food contact safety. The body of the bottle is made from extremely lightweight polypropylene material, free from chemicals or odors at high temperatures. The ring allows for transportation or placing the bottle in a bag and provides visibility while filtering water.
