The Valpolicella Blend is based on three native red wine varieties grown in the Veneto region in northeastern Italy. Corvina, Rondinella, and Molinara are the trio primarily involved in DOC Valpolicella. The three varieties are semi-dried to make Amarone, possibly the most famous incarnation of the wine. The specified ratios of grape varieties used in the blend vary depending on the source you use.
  • 65% Corvina
  • 35% Rondinella
Also, 60% of the wine is aged for 24 months in large oak barrels, and 40% of the wine is aged for 18 months in new French barriques from Allier.
