It is used for localized skin problems such as irritation, inflammation, infections, skin ulcers, bruises, and sprains, as well as minor burns, mild eczema, and dermatitis. It is suitable for all skin types, particularly dry and sensitive skin, and is also used for acne, scars, and wound healing. In tincture or infusion form, it is used as a mouthwash and gargle, as well as for gingivitis.

Taking it with sedatives may increase drowsiness. Oral use and topical application should be avoided during pregnancy and breastfeeding. It may cause an allergic reaction in people sensitive to plants in the Asteraceae/Compositae family, such as chrysanthemums, marigolds, and daisies.
