The Welch Allyn 118-3 PanOptic Plus ophthalmoscope head provides brighter and wider vision. It has a 20 times larger viewing area compared to viewing through a standard ophthalmoscope. With the addition of Quick Eye alignment technology, the patient's gaze direction is improved for better alignment of the optic disc. Combined with long-lasting LED lamps and DuraShock technology, it offers an upgrade from the standard or pocket ophthalmoscope to enhance ophthalmic examinations. The PanOptic Plus ophthalmoscope is compatible with 3.5V power sources or can be paired with the Lithium Ion Plus power handle for increased performance.

The Welch Allyn Lithium Ion rechargeable handle offers twice the battery life compared to conventional handles. It is compatible with all 3.5V Welch Allyn heads, allowing any head (otoscope, ophthalmoscope, dermatoscope, etc.) to be attached to it.
