The intrauterine device cu 375 is ready for use by trained medical personnel, in a sterile package. It consists of a U-shaped device with two flexible toothed arms made from:

• low-density polyethylene with barium sulfate
• radiopaque
• copper spiral with a diameter of 0.40 mm providing an area of 375 mm²

The flexible lateral arms ensure that the cu 375 intrauterine device remains positioned as high as possible in the uterine cavity, with a single fiber nylon thread attached to the stem. The sterile case containing a cu 375 and its insertion components is "single use only".
