Over time, by 1983, the hives increased to 200 and were moved to the area of Messinian Mani and the mountains of Taygetus. In 1994, their son Charalampos Fotopoulos took over the business after attending beekeeping educational seminars.

Fotopoulos Beekeeping "Honey of Taygetus" has been certified with ISO 22000:2005 for the production, packaging, and marketing of beekeeping products.
