Catherine and Heathcliff grow up together. The dark-haired homeless boy that Catherine's father, Mr. Earnshaw, brought home becomes her playmate and the chosen one of her heart.
After Mr. Earnshaw's death, Catherine's brother humiliates and diminishes Heathcliff, depriving him of education and any chance for advancement. Catherine, believing that Heathcliff is not worthy of her, decides to marry someone else, and a bitter Heathcliff leaves the house.
When he returns a few years later, Heathcliff's transformation is striking. But behind his refined manners lies an unquenchable hatred for those who humiliated him and made him suffer.
His diabolical mind devises a terrible scheme of revenge, which in the end will destroy him as well. The novel was published in 1847 and is a thrilling, tempestuous love story.
In the wild nature of the English north, in a foggy, melancholy yet simultaneously threatening landscape, the cursed love of Catherine and Heathcliff is born. A love that will bring unhappiness to both heroes and their close ones.
