The La Maison du Rhum Paraguay Batch 5 2008 is a cane honey rum produced by the Castilla distillery in Paraguay. The distillery, founded in 1993 by the Diaz family, is branded as Fortin rum.
The rum is produced with a 100% organic production process. The sugarcane is grown without processing and is always harvested by hand. In 2008, the rum was distilled in a solid copper column and then placed in ex-bourbon oak barrels before completing the process in pedro ximenez and brandy barrels.
It was bottled in 2022 with 7,071 bottles. It is a dark - amber sweet and fruity rum, with aromas of vanilla, exotic fruits, and sweet spices, while woody notes are highlighted in the finish.
