Update: lately I notice that it disconnects a few times. This problem seems to be solved by unplugging it and plugging it back in

    PS3: (update) 10 months after purchase, I notice that if I have DHCP disabled on the me60x, the Mercusys app or web interface often cannot connect to the extender. That's why I leave it on auto (which works fine). These issues will probably be resolved in the next upgrade.

IEEE Networking Standards

The networking standards describe the frequencies and maximum speeds supported by the device. This information is also reflected in the more user-friendly Wi-Fi generations, such as Wi-Fi 5 (IEEE 802.11ac) or Wi-Fi 6 (IEEE 802.11ax).

802.11 b/g/n

The older Wi-Fi standard, known as Wi-Fi 4, is significantly slower than Wi-Fi 5 (IEEE 802.11ac) and Wi-Fi 6 (IEEE 802.11ax).


It is recommended for use with few devices and for applications that do not require high speeds. For most users, it would be preferable to choose a Wi-Fi 5 or 6 device depending on their needs.


Each newer generation is compatible with devices that support a previous one.

802.11a

The older Wi-Fi standard is even older than Wi-Fi 4 (IEEE 802.11 b/g/n) which is significantly slower than Wi-Fi 5 (IEEE 802.11ac) and Wi-Fi 6 (IEEE 802.11ax).


All subsequent generations are compatible with devices that support a previous one, so it is recommended that the repeater also supports more modern standards.

very decent for its price, I've had it for 2 months and it only had 1 disconnection, on a 300mbps fiber connection it delivers around 220-230 download, 150 upload.

Update: lately I notice that it disconnects a few times. This problem seems to be solved by unplugging it and plugging it back in

    PS2: (update) 10 months after purchase, I notice that my new phone (poco x7) disconnects when I turn off the screen, and reconnects when I turn it back on. This does not happen when the phone is connected to other extenders or routers (wifi 6, 5, 4), so it is not a phone settings issue.

    PS3: (update) 10 months after purchase, I notice that if I have DHCP disabled on the me60x, the Mercusys app or web interface often cannot connect to the extender. That's why I leave it on auto (which works fine). These issues will probably be resolved in the next upgrade.
