So, here's the thing: the point that needs special attention is which category we place it in and thus which drinks we compare it with. It may be called tsipouro, but it isn't... Certainly, it is not whiskey. I would like to disagree with most of the reviews I read, but I'm not an expert, so I'll just say try it ideally before you buy it. I hadn't drunk another aged one to have a point of comparison, I just really like the classic Apostolaki tsipouro and this doesn't... As for whiskey, I like the smooth Irish ones, and this with such a strong alcohol taste is anything but smooth. Different, yes, you could say that.

Wonderful aromas, pairs nicely with nuts and chocolate. Personally, it doesn't remind me of whiskey at all. It has a sweetness that is more reminiscent of aged rum or cognac. It doesn't give you a headache, like all good tsipouro! I prefer it at room temperature

Having tried the dark cave, which blew me away since I love the smoky aftertaste it leaves, but the price confuses me, I consider the manifesto very good for the money someone spends to get it. It has a much lighter smoky aftertaste compared to the other one I mentioned, but it leaves equally strong aromas that are often worth smelling rather than drinking. Very pleasant! You don't put ice in such drinks, so you can feel them the same from start to finish. It pairs very well with dark chocolate. Obviously, it's not meant to drink the whole bottle, but to enjoy it with 2 measures whenever you want. Would I buy it again? Of course. Is the price good? It's neither expensive nor cheap. If it were a bit cheaper, it would definitely be the best aged tsipouro in terms of quality and price. I believe that in Greece we have now discovered the whiskey of our country, but much better than a very good whiskey. In the future, we will see amazing things if the producers develop it! Advertise the product abroad as much as you can and make the whiskey countries sweat that they will lose their top spot! Buy it, it will definitely surprise you. The same goes for the dark cave, which is of course almost double the price.
Έχοντας δοκιμάσει το dark cave ,με το οποίο έπαθα πλάκα ,αφού μου αρέσει η επιγευση του καπνιστού που σου αφήνει,αλλά με ξενίζει η τιμή του,το manifesto το θεωρώ πολύ καλό για τα χρήματα που δίνει κάποιος να το πάρει. Έχει μια πολύ ελαφρύτερη επιγευση καπνιστού σε σχέση με το άλλο που ανέφερα,όμως αφήνει εξίσου πολύ δυνατά αρώματα που πολλές φορές αξίζει να το μυρίζεις παρά να το πίνεις. Πολύ ευχάριστο!
Δεν βάζεις πάγο σε τέτοια ποτά,για να τα νιώθεις από την αρχή ως το τέλος τους το ίδιο.
Συνδυάζεται πολύ καλά με μαύρη σοκολάτα.

I continue to drink it (every day).. One glass (two doses) is perfect every night..
It also helps with sleep,.. without pills, melatonin, etc.

Σε στελνει και για υπνο ,..χωρις χαπια ,μελατονινες,ροπαλα κλπ.

For those who are accustomed to drinking regular tsipouro, not aged, it opens up another dimension of enjoyment.
It is for a special moment, not for everyday, due to its cost.

One of the best choices for aged tsipouro at a fairly good price. Aged for a total of 18 months in different types of oak barrels, with such permeability and use, in order to enrich the final "bouquet of aromas". It definitely doesn't reach the level of "Dark Cave" by Tsililis (aged for 5 years) or the top-rated "Cigar Methexis" by Lazaridis, but for Moscato from Ambourgou (from Thessaly), it is the best choice for someone to enter the world of aged tsipouro.
Perhaps the 4 stars I give are a strict rating, but let's not expect a life elixir with 18 months of aging (lately we even see "aging" of 6 months...) Balanced taste and good aftertaste, perfect for sipping accompanied by dried fruits. Two people finished the bottle (700ml) in one sitting and there was no hangover or anything :)
The price-quality ratio is very good if we consider the cost of production due to the relentless taxes in our country and the whole experience required to make an aged tsipouro that can be sold by a medium-sized company.
A special choice for a gift, much better than giving a simple whiskey...
Price: 20-22 euros. It is now also sold in the wine sections of large supermarkets.

The Apostolakis family - known for its tsipouro - recently released the powerful Manifesto. It started with the Moscato from Ambourgou and the story continued for 18 months in barrels of 3 different types (new American, French used for aging wine, and new distillate barrels). The aged tsipouro maintains the fresh aromas of the variety, such as rose, grapefruit, passion fruit, and expands into the aromas of maturation, such as cocoa, vanilla, raisins, and cinnamon. In the mouth, chocolate appears and remains in the aftertaste.

Ισορροπημένη γεύση και καλή επίγευση, ό,τι πρέπει για χωνευτικό με συνοδεία αποξηραμένων φρούτων. Το καθαρίσαμε 2 άτομα το μπουκαλάκι (700ml) σε μία καθισιά και ούτε hangover ούτε τίποτα :)
Η σχέση τιμής-ποιότητας είναι πολύ καλή εάν αναλογιστούμε το κόστος παρασκευής λόγω των ανελέητων φόρων της χώρας μας και την όλη εμπειρία που απαιτείται για να φτιαχτεί ένα παλαιωμένο τσίπουρο που να μπορεί να πωληθεί από μεσαία εταιρία.

So, here's the thing: the point that needs special attention is which category we place it in and thus which drinks we compare it with. It may be called tsipouro, but it isn't... Certainly, it is not whiskey. I would like to disagree with most of the reviews I read, but I'm not an expert, so I'll just say try it ideally before you buy it. I hadn't drunk another aged one to have a point of comparison, I just really like the classic Apostolaki tsipouro and this doesn't... As for whiskey, I like the smooth Irish ones, and this with such a strong alcohol taste is anything but smooth. Different, yes, you could say that.

Wonderful aromas, pairs nicely with nuts and chocolate. Personally, it doesn't remind me of whiskey at all. It has a sweetness that is more reminiscent of aged rum or cognac. It doesn't give you a headache, like all good tsipouro! I prefer it at room temperature

Having tried the dark cave, which blew me away since I love the smoky aftertaste it leaves, but the price confuses me, I consider the manifesto very good for the money someone spends to get it. It has a much lighter smoky aftertaste compared to the other one I mentioned, but it leaves equally strong aromas that are often worth smelling rather than drinking. Very pleasant! You don't put ice in such drinks, so you can feel them the same from start to finish. It pairs very well with dark chocolate. Obviously, it's not meant to drink the whole bottle, but to enjoy it with 2 measures whenever you want. Would I buy it again? Of course. Is the price good? It's neither expensive nor cheap. If it were a bit cheaper, it would definitely be the best aged tsipouro in terms of quality and price. I believe that in Greece we have now discovered the whiskey of our country, but much better than a very good whiskey. In the future, we will see amazing things if the producers develop it! Advertise the product abroad as much as you can and make the whiskey countries sweat that they will lose their top spot! Buy it, it will definitely surprise you. The same goes for the dark cave, which is of course almost double the price.
Έχοντας δοκιμάσει το dark cave ,με το οποίο έπαθα πλάκα ,αφού μου αρέσει η επιγευση του καπνιστού που σου αφήνει,αλλά με ξενίζει η τιμή του,το manifesto το θεωρώ πολύ καλό για τα χρήματα που δίνει κάποιος να το πάρει. Έχει μια πολύ ελαφρύτερη επιγευση καπνιστού σε σχέση με το άλλο που ανέφερα,όμως αφήνει εξίσου πολύ δυνατά αρώματα που πολλές φορές αξίζει να το μυρίζεις παρά να το πίνεις. Πολύ ευχάριστο!
Δεν βάζεις πάγο σε τέτοια ποτά,για να τα νιώθεις από την αρχή ως το τέλος τους το ίδιο.
Συνδυάζεται πολύ καλά με μαύρη σοκολάτα.

It also helps with sleep,.. without pills, melatonin, etc.

One of the best choices for aged tsipouro at a fairly good price. Aged for a total of 18 months in different types of oak barrels, with such permeability and use, in order to enrich the final "bouquet of aromas". It definitely doesn't reach the level of "Dark Cave" by Tsililis (aged for 5 years) or the top-rated "Cigar Methexis" by Lazaridis, but for Moscato from Ambourgou (from Thessaly), it is the best choice for someone to enter the world of aged tsipouro.
Perhaps the 4 stars I give are a strict rating, but let's not expect a life elixir with 18 months of aging (lately we even see "aging" of 6 months...) Balanced taste and good aftertaste, perfect for sipping accompanied by dried fruits. Two people finished the bottle (700ml) in one sitting and there was no hangover or anything :)
The price-quality ratio is very good if we consider the cost of production due to the relentless taxes in our country and the whole experience required to make an aged tsipouro that can be sold by a medium-sized company.
A special choice for a gift, much better than giving a simple whiskey...
