This version offers secured-core features to protect hardware, firmware, and the Windows Server operating system from advanced security threats. Secured-core builds rely on technologies such as Windows Defender System Guard and virtualization-based security to minimize risks from firmware vulnerabilities and advanced malware.

The new release also offers secure connectivity that introduces many new features, such as faster and more secure encrypted HTTPS connections, SMB AES 256 encryption, and more. Windows Server 2022 enhances hybrid server management with significantly improved VM management, an advanced event viewer, and many other new features in the Windows Admin Center.

Additionally, this version includes significant improvements to Windows containers, such as smaller image sizes for faster downloads, simplified network policy application, and container tools for .NET applications.
