Agave 'Shaka Zulu' (Blue Glow)

The Agave 'Shaka Zulu' is a medium-sized, slow-growing Agave that can reach 90 cm in diameter and 60 cm in height. It is a hybrid plant with blue powdery foliage and a red/yellow outline on each leaf. Its common name is Agave 'Blue Glow' due to the characteristic blue glow of the foliage when illuminated by the sun.
Although it can tolerate lower light levels than other Agaves, it needs bright light to showcase its vibrant colors. It withstands temperatures down to -4°C, but it must remain in dry conditions, as it does not thrive well in wet situations. It is better to winter on the dry side, like most Agave.
It is a succulent with a rosette habit, featuring blue foliage and slightly orange tips. Its flowering occurs once and signifies the end of its life, but it can live between 20 and 30 years.
