Description

Description

The Civil War left an indelible mark on the older generation. We younger ones have inherited the scent left by those who lived through the events.

Thus, Sakis had a different story to tell us about the Civil War than the one that prevailed until the first years of the memoranda. Before SYRIZA came to power, that is. And this is significant in the sense that the urban myth in a country where the Left had ideologically dominated claimed that Greece would have been a better country had the communists won the Civil War.

Today, after 4.5 years of SYRIZA, the illusions have been surpassed. They first needed to be debunked. It was undoubtedly a painful process. Perhaps something good will come out of all this history in the end. It's as if we are finally burying the dead and deciding to continue with our lives.

The story that Sakis has to tell us about the Civil War greatly serves Democracy itself. Knowledge of the past does not stir up passions. The burial of truth allowed the Left to claim revenge in the so-called third round.

(From the Foreword by Thanasis Mavridis)

Trying to cut the watermelon in half, the author does not take a real stance that they should take. They also try to record facts instead of entering into narration, and it becomes a bit of a data book. Read HELEN if you liked it
