It is a low-maintenance plant. It grows larger than Anubias barteri var. nana but has the same requirements. Anubias barteri vary in size and leaf shape. Like other Anubias species, it is best placed in a shaded spot to limit algae growth on the leaves.

It is also suitable for terrariums and paludariums. Herbivorous fish do not eat it because its leaves are too tough for them.
