Description & Specifications

The book presents important ideas from contemporary thinkers in an easily understandable way for grasping and interpreting our complex world. Through an interdisciplinary approach, combining philosophy, theology, anthropology, sociology, psychology, political economy, semiotics, media theory, and art, alternative proposals and solutions to current social problems are offered.

The inclusion of heterogeneous issues of reflection in a central narrative refers to the transition from the "grand narrative" of linear time (chrono-politics) to a "located knowledge" grounded in the here and now (topo-economies). The purpose of the essay is to shape a new social contract, especially during the Anthropocene, to address the challenges of human survival.

The work is aimed at students, researchers, and professionals in the humanities, but aspires to reach all concerned citizens, promoting critical thinking, an essential prerequisite for safeguarding a democratic and socially just well-being.

Based on proposals from distinguished researchers and inspired artists, we seek for the book to become a guide to understanding the present and a manual for designing the future, asserting that the true revolution today lies in solving existing problems.
