Two out of two clones that I generally don't have the best impressions of, after the positive surprise of Detour Eco (Haltane Clone). I said let's give it another try; if we exclude the bottles that I personally don't like at all (I find them too much, the cap is terrible), this one is well-made, smooth without that intense synthetic feel that clones usually have. I tried Layton (the regular one, not the Exclusive) on one hand and this one on the other; they are very close, and in the air, I couldn't tell the difference. Maybe a little at the opening, Layton is a bit fresher and less peppery. Up close, during the dry down after a while, Layton is a bit muskier; it has the classic PDM DNA. The Stag Expression 2 is more vanilla (the clones have this vanilla that covers the other notes; it's the quality, I suppose). Well done, good case, and I hope they keep it this way because from what I see with clones, the first versions they release are much more qualitative than the subsequent ones (see Club de Nuit Intense).
