For safe discharging and prolonging the lifespan of the battery, the final discharge voltage should not fall below the following values:

• at discharge current up to 0.1 * battery capacity (A): minimum 1.75 V
• at discharge current between (0.11 ... 0.2) * battery capacity (A): minimum 1.70 V
• at discharge current between (0.21 ... 0.3) * battery capacity (A): minimum 1.67 V
• at discharge current between (0.31 ... 1) * battery capacity (A): minimum 1.60 V
• at discharge current above 1.1 * battery capacity (A): minimum 1.3 V

Additionally, proper charging will extend the battery life. Accurate monitoring of the charging voltage is essential, as follows:

• in standby and float charging: 2.25 and 2.3 V/cell, at temperature 25 °C
• in cyclic operation: 2.35 and 2.45 V/cell, at temperature 25 °C

The initial recommended current is a maximum of 0.3 * battery capacity (A). The charging voltage should be compensated for temperature: it should slightly increase at low temperatures (winter) and decrease at high temperatures (summer) (+/- 3 mV/degree Celsius/cell in standby or +/- 4 mV/degree Celsius/cell in cyclic operation).
