Description

To Dalmore Single Malt Scotch Whisky 12 Years Old, ages in American oak bourbon barrels for the first nine years and in Oloroso Sherry barrels for the last three years. With its complex aromas and flavors, it is recognized as a whisky with a character far beyond its age.

On the nose, citrus, chocolate, and aromatic spices are distinguished.

It pays tribute to King Alexander of Scotland who in 1263 honored the owners of the Dalmore distillery, the Mackenzie clan, with the Royal Stag emblem, which still adorns its bottles to this day.

Why Dalmore 12 Will Become Your Favorite:

  • The art of double maturation: For nine years it rests in American oak bourbon barrels, absorbing sweet vanilla notes. Then, half of the spirit is transferred to rare Oloroso Sherry casks for another three years. The result? A multi-purpose whisky with incredible balance.
  • Creamy and rich texture: Forget "light" whiskies. Here, every sip has "weight," filling your mouth with a velvety sensation and inviting you to analyze it.
  • A taste journey: It is the ideal companion for a quiet evening. The sweetness of Sherry and the notes of coffee and chocolate make it the ultimate "digestive" after a good dinner.

The experience of the senses:

  • On the nose: Intense aromas of citrus and dried fruits, intertwined with warm chocolate and aromatic spices.
  • On the palate: Medium to full-bodied, with a dominant creamy texture. You will feel the sweet taste of Sherry embracing your palate.
  • On the finish: Long, persistent, and noble, with a characteristic note of roasted coffee that will remain unforgettable.

Technical Specifications:

  • Type: Single Malt Scotch Whisky.
  • Region: Highlands, Scotland.
  • Aging: 12 years (American White Oak & Oloroso Sherry Wood).
  • Alcohol content: 40%.

Sweet and easy to drink. For what it offers in terms of taste, I think it's a bit pricey, but it's worth having in your collection.

A whisky for someone who respects themselves. Yes, it’s true that for its price, you can find amazing NAS or older whiskies, but here we’re talking about Dalmore. An amazing and very high-quality brand.
As for its nose, what can I say, citrus, an intense chocolate, and a bit of spice. On the palate, I get strong dried fruits and a sweet vanilla, while on the finish I feel a nice chocolate.
I repeat, for around €70 where someone can find it, you can buy fantastic whiskies, but that doesn’t mean this isn’t also a very good whisky. On the contrary, it’s a wonderful whisky that anyone who loves the "sport" should at least try! It may not offer you a strong thrill, but it will definitely make you feel like you’re giving yourself what you deserve, that is, the best!
P.S., the bottle is a jewel and very premium, something I personally appreciate.

Good but overpriced. I will agree with the others who write that it should be priced at 45€ (which in my opinion is higher than Highland Park).

Non-expert experience: I tried it for the first time, based on third-party reviews. Pleasant surprise, sweet, fruity, with a strong burning sensation at the beginning, light aftertaste afterwards. Sweet and very enjoyable in taste, pairs well with sweet snacks, not salted or salty nuts. A bit heavy and greasy when consumed straight, but with ice it soars and "unfolds" flavor and aroma. You start with one and definitely have a second!

Nice sweetness. Maybe excessive, depending on each person's palate. Caramel on the nose, chocolate on the taste. There has been a lot of attention given to marketing. The 40% alcohol content is low for a 12-year-old single malt. At 46%, it would have more intensity in taste and would correspond to a more satisfying drink for the buyer. Expensive for what it ultimately offers.

A twelve-year-old malt, of which 9 years mature in American oak bourbon barrels, then half remains in bourbon barrels and the other half is transferred to 30-year-old oloroso sherry barrels until the final blend is achieved, after 3 years. All this complexity of maturation is evident everywhere.
Lovely nose of citrus, chocolate, and spices, buttery mouthfeel with the sweetness of Sherry taking center stage and a long finish as a malt like this should have.
Overall, an easy whisky, elegant with countless flavors and at the same time very high quality.

A single malt that deserves a permanent place in our cellar.

One of the best. For connoisseurs. Whiskey enthusiasts.

  • Sweet and easy to drink. For what it offers in terms of taste, I think it's a bit pricey, but it's worth having in your collection.

  • A whisky for someone who respects themselves.

  • Excellent choice for whiskey lovers. I had tried it at a friend's and I couldn't not have it in my collection.

  • Good but overpriced. I will agree with the others who write that it should be priced at 45€ (which in my opinion is higher than Highland Park).

  • Non-expert experience: I tried it for the first time, based on third-party reviews.
