Description

Based on the success of the Inspirado Black and Inspirado White series, Macanudo released the Inspirado orange robusto. The Inspirado Orange is manufactured in Honduras and features handcrafted tobacco fillers from Honduras, Nicaragua, and the Dominican Republic.

  • Ring Gauge: 50
  • Dimensions: 127cm

The size of the cigar is truly significant in the smoking experience. The determination of the size of the cigar consists of its length and diameter (ring).

DIAMETER (RING): The diameter of the cigar (ring) is measured in 1/64 of an inch. For example, a cigar that has a diameter or ring of 32 means that its diameter is 32/64 or half an inch (or 1.27cm). A common type of diameter (ring) is usually around 50.

The size of the diameter (ring) is very important for the taste outcome. Generally, a thin cigar will burn at a higher temperature, while a thicker cigar will burn more mildly.

Many cigar enthusiasts prefer thin cigars because they are practical, easy to hold, and contain less tobacco. To a beginner cigar enthusiast, we would recommend a cigar with a medium ring gauge to start, around 40.

LENGTH - SHAPE: The shape of a cigar can vary greatly in size from brand to brand.

  • Corona: Length 14cm to 15.3cm (5 1/2 to 6 inches) and ring 42-44.
  • Petit Corona: Length 11.5cm (4 1/2 inches), and ring 40-42.
  • Churchill: Typical dimensions are 17.8cm (7 inches), ring 47.
  • Robusto: Typical dimensions: 12cm to 14cm (4 3/4 to 5 1/2 inches), ring 48-52.
  • Corona Gorda or Toro: Typical dimensions are 14.50cm to 15.25cm (5 5/8 to 6 inches), ring 46 or 50.
  • Double Corona: Typical dimensions are 19cm to 21.60cm (7 1/2 to 8 1/2 inches) with ring 49-52.
  • Panetelas or Grand Panetelas: Long and thin with large length variations from 12.70cm to 19cm (5 to 7 1/2 inches) with ring 34-38.
  • Lonsdale: Generally longer than a corona, but thicker than a panetela, with a general size up to 16.50cm (6 1/2 inches) and ring 42.
  • Grandes: The thickest cigar shape, with ring 60 and sometimes reaching up to 70 or 80.
