Almost 100 million copies have been sold worldwide. No edition has proved more popular than the Central edition, illustrated by the award-winning artist Alan Lee.

Now, for the first time since its publication in 1992, this illustrated edition has been revised and expanded, with many new illustrations and more than 50 drawings added by the artist.

Readers will have the opportunity to follow the complete story of the Hobbits and their role in the quest for the Ring – starting from Bilbo's long-awaited party and culminating in the dramatic clash between Frodo and Gollum at the top of Mount Doom – while enjoying more than fifty colored illustrations that accompany this epic story.
