Description & Specifications

Rival physicists clash against a backdrop of a whirlwind of misunderstandings due to an academic feud and a series of fake dates in this wonderful romantic comedy by the best-selling author of The New York Times, who has also written The Love Theorem and The Neurology of Love.

The double life of theoretical physicist Elsie Hanaway, who works as an adjunct professor in the morning, hoping to secure a permanent university position, and in the afternoon, wishing to supplement her meager salary by providing faux girlfriend services, adopting whatever persona the client desires each time, is on the verge of being revealed.

And this is because she faces Jack Smith—the annoyingly attractive and arrogant older brother of her favorite client—who turns out to be the ruthless experimental physicist who destroyed her mentor's career and undermined the reputation of all theoretical physicists in the world. As if that weren't enough, he runs the Physics Department at MIT and stands directly between Elsie and her dream job.

Elsie is preparing for an all-out war, but… those lingering, penetrating glances? The fact that she doesn’t need to pretend to be anything other than herself in front of him? Will she ultimately be tempted to apply her solid theories on love now that she finds herself in the orbit of an experimental physicist?
