Talisker is the only distillery located on the Isle of Skye and has been operating since 1830. The sea breeze and intense peat give Talisker its strong "sea" personality of iodine, heather, and a peppery aftertaste. It is considered one of the best whiskies in the world. 

Talisker Port, where the age of maturation is not specified, got its name from the further maturation of the whisky (initially in American and European oak barrels) in barrels from sweet Port wine. The characteristic salty sensation combines with ripe citrus and white chocolate. On the palate, it is sweet, with plums and mocha alternating against an intense smoky background. The aftertaste is long and impressive.
