The flavors of the 10-year-old, seaweed and smokiness, are completely pulled back and what stands out in front are the barrel flavors, the familiar ones. In short, skip it without fear. It also costs more... If you know the 10-year-old... you won't find it here. Try another whisky... The good 10-year-old beats them all. And I will never buy special editions of any whisky again because it seems they are inferior to the basic offering of each distillery.

Amazing, this one is the king of smoked whiskeys, an incredible distillate. It belongs in every cellar. I don't just recommend it, but it's a shame for someone not to try it. 5 stars is not enough.

EXCELLENT! Softer than its little brother, sweeter and easier to drink, with less smoke intensity than the 10-year-old. Very good integration of alcohol!!! Mature, full-bodied flavor, tasty sweet peat, oily, warm, sweet, smoky, oak, heavy body! The nose is oily, caramel, a little butter, definitely toffee, dried fruits, smoke, peat. It's not medicinal like the 10-year-old Laohroaig. I would say it's close to the 10-year-old Ardbeg, but sweeter and easier to drink and less smoky...! The aftertaste is medium to long, sweet, smoky, and fruity. It's truly worth it. Addictive! Awesome! Peaty, incredibly tasty!!!! Excellent!!! 5/5...!!!

Smoky, velvety, and full of flavor. Oily in the mouth. Superior to a 10 out of 10 for my taste. The small barrels make a difference, indeed.

For me, it is much better than the regular 10, 48%, unfiltered and with a much nicer finish
