The Sela Ocean Drums consist of a round frame made of beech wood, covered on both sides. Inside the Ocean Drum, there are numerous small metal and plastic spheres that produce sound effects reminiscent of the sound of ocean waves.

One side is covered with natural leather and the other with plastic, allowing for two completely different tonal qualities. The quantity of beads can be individually adjusted, affecting the drum's volume and response. Gentle motions create relaxing ocean sounds, while more vigorous movements bring forward the roar of waves during a storm.

The Sela Ocean Drum can be played like a traditional drum, by striking it with the palm, fingers, or the edge of the hand.
